About SportsAid

The Gyro 10k gives 100% of your entrance money to SportsAid, who use the money to help aspiring, talented young British athletes take their first athletic steps on the path of success. Your entrance money will help dedicated young sportsmen and women where others cannot or will not - it's something SportsAid has been doing for nearly 30 years.

Through the help of individual donors, corporate partners and other grant-giving trusts, SportsAid is able to work with the National Governing Bodies of Sport to identify young athletes and help them to achieve their sporting potential. This intervention is often the difference between a talented athlete staying with their chosen sport or quitting: it’s as simple as that. SportsAid can help in two ways, either through the new Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) which provides tailored services to meet the needs of the next generation of sporting talent, or through traditional SportsAid Grants offering direct financial support to young athletes. SportsAid have helped many famous names, including Kris Akabusi, Linford Christie, Darren Campbell, Kelly Holmes, Denise Lewis and Matthew Pinsent, to name a few.

As there is no other charity seeking to support young sportsmen and women in this way and the vast majority do not receive direct support from the Lottery, SportsAid really is the Charity for Sport.

Gyro have been actively involved with SportsAid since 2005, pledging their support by offering free consultancy in the form of branding, website design and production as well as ads, brochures and other communications. The whole company enjoys getting involved with the Gyro 10k every year.
